We are seeking Nurse Practitioners to become a part of our multidisciplinary team providing high quality patient care to traditionally underserved SamaritanaMedical Clinic has been providing high quality family practice health care & urgent care services in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Samaritana Medical Clinic takes pride in our friendly and attentive bilingual staff and medical providers who are always willing to provide the best customer service and patient care. All of our eight clinics are outpatient family practice and urgent care clinics with no night shifts.

Partnering with physicians and other clinical colleagues, you'll use our integrated care delivery model to ensure the best possible care for your patients. You will provide health care services to patients who may have acute episodic conditions or chronic problems, as well as those seeking health evaluation, preventive care and/or education and counseling. Under physician supervision, perform complete physical examinations, including ordering, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests and examinations among other duties. Assume on-going responsibility for each patient from discovery of the disorder to recovery. Diagnose and treat both chronic and episodic disorders including complications of otherwise normal processes. Establish and document the health care plan and diagnosis, maintain records of each case that are sufficiently complete for any physician reviewing them to evaluate the effectiveness of the plan. Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members and to customers, contracted providers and vendors. Must be able to work with EMR.

Essential Functions:

  • Collect subjective data (obtain history).
  • Collect objective data (perform a physical exam).
  • Develop an assessment (diagnosis).
  • Develop and implement a management plan.
  • Facilitate the referral of patients to the appropriate health facilities, agencies and resources within the community.
  • Order pharmacologic interventions.
  • Develop and implement an educational plan.
  • Plan for appropriate follow-up care.
  • Consistently supports compliance in maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and license requirements (if applicable), and SMC policies and procedures.
  • Minor surgical procedures under Physician supervision
  • Requires flexibility in schedule and weekend shifts

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimum (2) year of experience in a family practice setting

License, Certification, Registration

  • Current California Nurse Practitioner
  • *National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Nurse Practitioners PA license, need not be maintained).
  • DEA Registration Number, required.
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
  • National Provider Identification Number (NPI).

Additional notes

Weekends, holidays as required for the needs of the clinics.

Bilingual English Spanish; Speak Fluently.
