Minimum Qualifications:Candidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry if they have certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in the Psychiatry specialty practice area by the New York State Education Department.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Duties Description As Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry, you will utilize a range of psychosocial interventions and therapy methods including: Providing psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, treatments, and medication management. Establishing individual goals and treatment objectives. Prescribing medications and treatments, monitoring impact, and modifying as needed. Maintaining medical records and documentation.NOTE: 1.
