DescriptionWe are seeking a Nurse Supervisor (RN) to join our team of dedication addiction treatment professionals! The Nursing Supervisor/Manager plans, supervises, and participates in the delivery of quality nursing, oversees patient-care operations, assigning and monitoring staff nurses and identifying and implementing quality improvements.SHIFT:Mon-Fri 9:00a-5:00pTASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Responsible for the 24-hour management of the Nursing Department and assuring that the daily tasks of the Nursing Department are carried out in accordance with facility policy and in compliance with State & Federal Regulations. •Interview all nursing candidates for hire to their unit and participate in the hiring process.•Orient all new nursing personnel on their unit/shift.•Arrange for adequate staffing of their unit/shift accessing the nursing per diem pool.•Take every opportunity to educate those registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing aides, and mental health aides under their supervision and document it appropriately.•Knowledge of program policies and procedures.•Assist in ordering medical supplies and store these supplies in a proper manner.•Knowledge of checking the stock for expired items and replaces those with new stock.•Assists with supervision and performance appraisal of the staff to ensure that they are working efficiently, and a professional environment is maintained in the facility. •Formally discipline those employees failing in any aspect of their job description; this includes creating an objective, time specific, correction plan that the employee can understand and follow.•Assists in formulating standards for patient policies and procedures.•Performs clinical nursing activities in a safe, professional manner.•Maintains compliance with established nursing care standards.•Assists in supervising and instructing patients in medication self-administration, (the preparation and giving of injections) as ordered by doctor.•Assists in obtaining lab specimens as ordered by doctor•Assists patient in obtaining medications from pharmacy•Promotes good public relations between program and nursing department.•Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse in the State of NY
- Current basic life support for health providers (BLS/CPR)
- Knowledge of Substance Abuse Treatment
- At least 1 year of experience working in substance abuse treatment.
