POSTION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide direct care to residents, under the supervision of a licensed nurse or Medication Tech in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Report resident needs and concerns to a licensed nurse or Medication Tech. Must be able to communicate in English. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or Equivalent and must have successfully completed training as required by current state law/regulation. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers with experience in long-term care preferred. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrated ability to utilize independent and effective judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills. DUTIES OF POSITION: Customer Service

  • Produces high quality documentation as evidence by the following:
  • Follow established standards of nursing practices to implement facility policies and procedures related to medication administration.
  • Interpret existing policies and procedures related to medication administration to nursing assistants, restorative nursing assistants, residents, families and physicians.
  • Provide care to residents following facility policies and procedures.
  • Report residents' needs and concerns to a licensed nurse/Medication Tech.
  • Assist new employees in following established facility policies and procedures.
  • Initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance of a licensed nurse/Medication Tech.
  • Participate in the development of an individualized plan of care of assigned residents.
  • Review care plans and perform nursing care as outlined.
  • Document in the nursing assistant notes the care and treatment provided to the resident and the resident's response or lack of response to care provided.
  • Assure residents are given adequate assistance with personal and oral hygiene needs following facility's policies and procedures.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living as documented in the residents'.
  • Assure residents have call lights at hand and answer call lights promptly.
  • Listen to resident and family complaints and report problems to Charge Nurse/Resident Care Director.
  • Respond to residents' call for assistance promptly.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Takes steps necessary to produce excellent work in any task or job that is assigned.
