This care team member will provide for the hygiene, personal care, and activities of daily living, assist with tray passing and transport of patients, as needed, and measuring and recording vital signs. Some Nursing Assistants may do EKG tests. Some Nursing Assistants may also perform clerical support functions.Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:EDUCATIONHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent preferredEXPERIENCEA minimum of one year (1040 hours) of experience as a Nursing Assistant; in an acute-care hospital or skilled nursing facility is preferred. Enrollment in a registered nursing program with completion of at least the first year of clinical instruction may substitute for the required experience.LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONSCertified Nurse Assistant Required at hireBasic Life Support Required at hireIntegrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hirePREREQUISITE SKILLS1. Ability to read, speak, write clearly and legibly, and understand and follow English verbal and written instructions2. Ability to establish priorities and follow through on assigned tasks3. Ability to communicate clearly, and work tactfully and effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, team members and other hospital staff4. Knowledge of medical terminology5. Ability to learn current in-house computer systems6. Ability to work effectively as a team member and contribute positively towards the goals of the team and the organization7.
