Join our compassionate mental health team as a Nursing Assistant, where you'll make a meaningful impact each day, supporting patients on their journey to wellness in a collaborative and caring environment!Part Time: 20 hours/weekResponsibilities:Provide direct patient care, including daily living tasks: bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, and transporting.Maintain a safe and organized environment by performing safety checks, cleaning, organizing rooms, and managing equipment.Support patient care by delivering nourishments, filling water pitchers, distributing supplies, and assisting with patient mail and clerical duties.Report patient status changes and provide feedback to RN; apply, monitor, and remove restraints as necessary.Develop and maintain professional relationships with effective communication and cultural awareness.Participate in self-assessment and learning to improve skills; request assistance with prioritizing tasks as needed.Engage in department activities, respond to call lights, pass meal trays, and assist with patient transport.Adhere to all safety policies and infection control protocols; respond to emergent situations within role scope.Support patient well-being by providing companionship and supervising patients when required.High school diploma or equivalent.Prior behavioral healthcare experience preferredLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within 30 days of hire, based on AHA standardsComprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) training required within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter.Compliance with NYS Staff Exclusion List (NYSEL) and NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse (NYSCR) requiredUPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
