The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the RN-BS Completion Program and develop/instruct online coursework.
  • A typical faculty workload responsibility may include up to twelve (12) credits per semester of instruction.
  • The successful candidate may need to teach in other areas as assigned and qualified.
  • May be expected to develop and deliver face-to-face, hybrid, and simulations at the Mankato campus, teach online, and/or at the university's additional locations, including clinical sites, as assigned.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in curriculum design, instruction and evaluation, and help create innovative strategies for student recruitment, retention, and completion, and expectations as listed in Appendix G of the IFO Master Agreement.
All faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly or creative activity or research, continue preparation and study, contribute to student growth and development, and provide service to the university and community (see Article 22 and Appendix G of the IFO Master Agreement ).Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctorate in nursing or closely related field conferred by August 18, 2025. (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of hire.)
  • Graduate degree in nursing at time of application. (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)
  • Active unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure; active unrestricted Minnesota Registered Nurse license at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve a diverse population and apply an equity lens to this position including social justice and/or anti-racism.
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time (or equivalent) experience teaching 100% online courses in a 100% online program.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
Preferred Qualification
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Demonstrated effective written, oral communication and/or presentation skills.
  • Experience using D2L Brightspace Learning Management System.
  • Experience developing online teaching materials.
  • Certificate or coursework in online teaching pedagogy.
  • Evidence of or potential for nursing scholarship.

We offer two programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree which are the Pre-licensure and RN Baccalaureate of Science programs. The RN Completion program is 100% online with an enrollment of approximately 600 students. The Pre-licensure program is offered at the Mankato campus and is an upper-division, four-semester major with about 240 students enrolled. Courses are primarily offered face-to-face on the Mankato campus, with learning activities in our Maverick Family Nursing Simulation Center as well. The BSN-DNP/FNP program is offered at the MSU Mankato Center for Graduate and Professional Studies located in Edina and has an enrollment of approximately 60 students. A new Advanced Professional Nurse MS Degree Program is 100% online with a growing enrollment.
