[email protected])Seeking experienced multilingual social worker (priority languages are fluent Russian and Spanish) to engage south Brooklyn community members of diverse backgrounds and ages into a wider range of public benefits for which they are eligible. This new funding stream focuses on proactively helping individuals and families expand their successful acquisition of public benefits for which they are eligible, but have not been able to acquire or sustain. NYC Benefits Access Program Manager will conduct in-reach within the client population already served by the organization as well as deep community outreach to engage lower income client populations living in our Brooklyn neighborhoods who may be eligible for additional benefits or may need help/support to maintain benefits that they had acquired.
Minimum Qualifications:BA in social work or related educational discipline minimum requirement. Prior social service/case management/NYC Benefit acquisition experience preferred. Fluency in English and Russian or Spanish critical skills for successful outreach/engagement work with local immigrant groups in our community. A self-starter and independent worker with strong organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary. Computer skills and case record keeping experience necessary. Good time management and an ability to multitask important. Seeking an experience people-person who is comfortable working with community residents of all ages, including older adults and diverse immigrant groups. Knowledge of NYC public benefits systems (HRA, Medicaid/Medicare, WIC, etc.) a plus.
Salary:$65,000 - $75,000
