Community Action Wayne/MedinaWe strengthen the community through collaborations and services by promoting self-sufficiency, household stability, and family and childhood education.From early childhood education to home repair, CAW/M provides an environment of friendly customer service.JOB SUMMARY: The Occasional will fill in for the full-time Receptionist for scheduled days off, possible unexpected time off, and additional projects if needed. The Receptionist welcomes visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone, providing answers or directing them to the appropriate staff person. The Receptionist provides for a professional CAW/M reception area which is organized and functions efficiently. Assures common and public reception areas are operational and well maintained at all times.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:The Receptionist retrieves answering system messages daily, records accurate messages, and assures they are delivered in a timely manner. The Receptionist provides basic information to callers about CAW/M programs, referring all additional inquiries to appropriate program staff.The Receptionist assures that all visitors to CAW/M sign in via agency procedures, follows program guidelines for receiving clients as outlined by the program manager, forwards all clients to the proper person/program, and maintains client confidentiality at all times.The Receptionist processes all incoming and outgoing mail daily, distributes mail into internal mailboxes daily, and maintains the postage machine and postage log.The Receptionist has responsibility for much of the direct client services for the City of Wooster Cab Pass Program, including application approval, identification verification, sales of passes, and bulk orders for local social service agencies. The Receptionist is also responsible for balancing daily/weekly/monthly sales and the credit card sales.Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum qualifications include:High school diploma or equivalent, with advanced knowledge of office practices.At least 6 months of experience in reception or general office work; orA combination of equivalent education and experience (if appropriate).WORKING CONDITIONS:While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in an office setting and travel to agency sites and homes for quality assurance monitoring. Must have a vehicle for business use.
