A community services organization in New York City is looking to add a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their growing team at one of their group homes in the Bronx.About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm
- Setting: Article 16 Clinic
- Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)
- EMR: PrecisionCare
Responsibilities:The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for:
- Assess patients and create and OT treatment plan
- Review medical records and verify MD's orders
- Implementing OT treatment
- Communicate with supervisor regarding persons receiving services in the areas of cognitive/perceptual skills, sensor-motor, musculoskeletal status, CNS status, the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment needs (e.g., ADL devices)
- Confer with Physician and other Healthcare Practitioners to obtain additional information on persons receiving services
- Integrate input from persons receiving services, family, and direct care staff in treatment
- Write specific, objective, and measurable documentation
- Participates and attends care plan/team meetings as needed for persons receiving OT services.
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- NYS Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Knowledge in the use of adaptive equipment, therapeutic activities
- Computer savvy
- Solid assessment skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
