Job Description Job Type : ContractLocation : Cedarhurst, New YorkPay : Competitive Pay Job Description Part-Time Occupational Therapist- Cedarhurst, NY (15 hours/week- Flexible schedule)Position Overview: The school in Cedarhurst, NY, is seeking a dedicated, part-time Occupational Therapist to support students with diverse learning needs. The Occupational Therapist will provide assessments, interventions, and support to help students develop and strengthen their motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills, facilitating their ability to engage fully in school activities. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess students' motor, sensory, and functional skills.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, goals, and objectives aligned with each student's needs, IEPs, or 504 Plans.
• Deliver direct therapy services to students, implementing techniques to improve fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, and self-care abilities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents to ensure cohesive support for each student's development.
• Track and document progress, updating plans as necessary to meet each student's evolving needs.
• Provide recommendations and resources to school staff and families for activities that promote motor and sensory development.

Qualifications:

• Current New York State licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Experience working with children with special needs, ideally within a school setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
• Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and relevant documentation.

Working Hours: This is a part-time position with flexible hours, typically scheduled during school hours, Monday through Wednesday.
