Maria provides student-focused opportunity education and seeks an experienced educator to serve as an Instructor in the Associate in Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.

An Instructor in the Associate in Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Program reports to the OTA Program Director and collaborates with the other educators and staff within the department and across the college and as well, promotes and supports Maria's positive student-focused culture of academic excellence and inclusivity.
Salary range: $55,000 to $60,000
Key Responsibilities
* Teaches associate-level OTA lecture and lab courses
* Ensure effective evaluations of student performance in the classroom setting
* Provides academic advisement to OTA students
* Serves on departmental and college committees
* Assist students in applying knowledge to Occupational Therapy practice.
* Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
* Promote evidence-based practice.
* Maintain current knowledge of OTA curriculum, policies, and requirements
* Maintain clinical competence and knowledge
* Serves as a role model for professional OTA practice for students
* Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with Maria College OTA department and the OTA community
* Support the mission of Maria College.
* Demonstrate empathy and respect for students.
* Create a culture that encourages student expression of ideas.
* Develop and participate in student orientations as scheduled.
* Participate in prospective and new student events as scheduled.
* Collaborate with staff in Student Services to connect students with necessary resources.
* Collaborate with others on systematic evaluation and continuous quality improvement of the curriculum and program.
* Engage in professional development and scholarship (e.g., scholarship of engagement, scholarship of teaching, scholarship of application, scholarship of integration, or scholarship of discovery).
* Other duties as assigned and aligned with the faculty handbook.

Qualifications and Experience
* Graduate of an ACOTE Accredited OT or OTA Program
* Master's Degree in OT or related field from an accredited institution
* Experience supervising OTA students in clinical settings
* A minimum of four years of clinical experience as a Registered OT or Certified OTA
* A current OT or OTA license in the State of New York
* College level teaching experience preferred
