If you are looking for a career that gives you the opportunity to be GREAT at problem solving for our GREAT team, this is the perfect job for you!Job DescriptionAn Off-Hours Dispatcher must provide support to drivers and office teams daily as outlined below. Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Ensure Safety is top priority in all activities.
- Tracking hours of service for trucks to include following up on all Hours of Service alert emails.
- Send completion email on follow ups to Safety Department, DM and Operations Manager
- Must be aware of all safety processes regarding handling of calls for accidents, driver injuries, motorist complains and load theft / damage claims.
- Must be knowledgeable of Operational processes and procedures for all assigned companies.
- Sunday night tracking for on time Monday delivery
- Follow-up on any issues as requested by DM's
- Communication on critical issues during shift to DM and Operations Manager as required
- Follow up on potential issues by drivers reported directly or indirectly
- Responsible for building and cultivating driver relationships and responsible for communicating driver issues / complaints to appropriate DM or operations support team member.
- Must be knowledgeable of all Sales processes and procedures for all assigned companies
- Tracking critical customer loads
- Communicate ALL service failures reported during each shift to the appropriate CSR, DM and supervisors
- Making phone contact during shift where appropriate and or required to include follow up with CSR, DM's and Operations Manager to resolve service issues
- Completing POD's as requested and directed by Sales Management
- Responsible for following up with Maintenance, Road call and or Breakdown
- Communicate and coordinate any issues with maintenance department regarding breakdowns and or truck service issues that may result in loss time for the driver or a service failure to the customer
- Communicate all issues with Sales and Operations where appropriate and required
- Awareness and implementation of PSL's Core Values
QualificationsA Successful Off-Hours Dispatcher Must consistently demonstrate the company's Mission and Values. They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Off-Hours Dispatcher must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.Additional InformationThis job is a salary position with no guarantees for career progression.
