As the Off Shift Lead at Superior Tire & Rubber Corporation, you will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations within the facility. This position requires technical expertise in operating manufacturing equipment, leadership skills to guide employees, and a commitment to ensuring quality and efficiency in production processes.
Essential Job Functions:
Operational Leadership:
* Provide coaching and training to team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
* Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to promote team cohesion and morale.
* Guide employee in performing manufacturing operations.
* Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures in all activities.
* Monitor machine performance and address any issues or malfunctions promptly.
* Report incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Technical Expertise:
* Set up and operate a variety of manufacturing equipment.
* Optimize programs for efficiency and quality, utilizing knowledge of parameters and machine capabilities.
* Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured components.
* Adjust machine settings to achieve desired specifications and tolerances, as instructed.
* Perform routine entry-level maintenance tasks on machines to ensure optimal performance.
Quality Assurance:
* Inspect parts to verify conformance to specifications.
* Identify and troubleshoot quality issues, adjusting as necessary to maintain product quality.
* Implement quality control measures to minimize defects and rework.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, inspection logs, and shift summaries.
* Report on production metrics, including output, scrap rates, downtime, and efficiency.
* Provide daily updates, via shift-to-shift communication tools, to management on production performance, issues, and improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in manufacturing operations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Communication
* Communicate effectively with management, peers, and team members to convey production goals, priorities, and updates.
* Report on production metrics, including output, efficiency, quality, and safety, to management and stakeholders.
* Communicate all changes in shift-to-shift communication tools.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the company.
