This position is a great opportunity to work with state parks in the SW Region and learn about Washington state agency processes and policies in general. Typical work includes but is not limited to being the office coordinator for SW Region, helping complete security of asset controls related to key issuance, assist with meetings, maintain tracking records and bill paying, as well as research and support of region managers and our maintenance team. There will be some opportunity for telework two days a week or a flex schedule once the preferred candidate has been within the role for six months. Working with Parks there are opportunities to get outside, see local parks, work with park staff from across the region, and have variety in everyday work.

Under general supervision by the Administrative Assistant 4, this position independently performs a variety of complex secretarial and administrative duties including prioritizing workload to ensure project deadlines are met while completing routine clerical tasks in a timely manner. This position is also the principle public service contact for the region office and handles sensitive information.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Independently performs routine and complex clerical assignments in support of the SW Region Office:

* Processes financial records for the SW Region Office.

* Assists SW Region staff with meeting preparation to include, scheduling rooms, preparing rooms for meetings, and processing requests for light refreshments.

* Completes photocopying, scanning, compiles information, prepares mailings, and other miscellaneous duties as requested by staff.

* Functions as the administrative hub for the SW Region Office during regular business hours including processing mail/email, answering phones and responding to inquiries from parks staff and visitors:

* Serves as the point of contact for SW Region parks, other agencies, and the public.

* Responds to information requests from parks, other agencies, and the public.

* Independently performs routine and complex clerical assignments in support of SW Region Maintenance:

* Maintains water sample files and vehicle RUF tracking.

* Assists in the preparation and coordination of reports or other informational materials.

* Processes financial records for the SW Region Maintenance Manager.

* Serves as the Region Equipment Coordinator:

* Serves as the Fleet Coordinator.

* Serves as the Verizon Coordinator.

* Serves as the back-up to the Administrative Assistant.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of clerical experience.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

* Master of computer skills to include use of personal computers and all associated hardware and software to produce timely and accurate work products that full satisfy the demands of assignments; adapts through continual learning to new/updated computer software and hardware; and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Knowledge of State and/or Agency regulations and policies.

* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
