- Assist professional staff as needed with day-to-day operation of Office of Retention and Academic Advising (RETE).
- Serves as a customer service representative for the Office of Retention and Academic Advising by cultivating and maintaining a positive environment within the office.
- Answering the phone and assisting callers with questions, inquiries or those in need of guidance regarding RETE programming and other resources across campus.
- Schedule peer coaching appointments along with tutoring appointments by using TutorTrac or other scheduling.
- Provide assistance to students in connection to campus resources (Eagle Success Program, Academic Recovery Program, Career Services, Tutoring, Financial Aid, and other educational services).
- Assist with various projects assigned by professional staff and GA. This includes but is not limited to filing, preparing documents, organization of folders/files and the office, and other office-related tasks.
- Works closely with peer coach and tutoring staff in a team-focused environment.

- Can be an entering college freshmen or higher
- Preferred cumulative MSU GPA of at least 3.0.
- Possess working knowledge of computers and software applications.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Demonstrate ability to solve problems and communicate well with others.
- Be recommended by two faculty or staff members if not recommended by AARE personnel.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Interest in helping fellow students succeed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be articulate and friendly.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
