Position Overview

Under direction, performs paraprofessional and technical duties in support of the staff in the Director's Office by using a computer system generating a high volume of complex legal, medical, and technical documents; creates directories and lower-level subdirectories; maintains files of documents. Serves as front desk receptionist for the Director's Office in Chicago. Provides paraprofessional staff support to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and technical staff. Utilizes Spanish speaking and writing skills in performance of assigned duties.

Essential Functions

* Using the personal computer systems, keyboards a large volume of complex technical documents containing legal and medical terminology.

* Serves as receptionist for the Chicago Office.

* Provides paraprofessional staff support to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).

* Maintains computer system by creating and updating glossaries.

* Speaks and writes Spanish to clients and groups.

* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience, or two (2) years of independent business experience.

* Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.

* Requires the ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level.
