Position Summary
The CAS Office Coordinator assists the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences with administrative tasks. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
Essential Functions
* Assists the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences with administrative tasks, communication, and record keeping. Prepares reports, creates calendars, schedules meetings, and maintains records.
* Performs daily management of finances.
* Serves on the CAS leadership team: planning, strategizing, and implementing new initiatives.
* Manages Applied Music schedules and assists Music department.
* If applicable, facilitates Cross-Cultural learning experience trip planning and reservations.
* Plans events for the College of Arts and Sciences faculty and students.
* Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Dean.
Education/Experience/Skills
* Education and/ or experience equivalent to B.A. degree.
* Effective verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong self-motivation, ability to work without supervision and demonstrate initiative.
* Ability to effectively manage budgets.
* Experience using Microsoft Office 365 software (Teams, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook).
* Skill in collecting, organizing, and presenting data.
* Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.
* Capacity to work under timelines with emphasis on details and accuracy.
* Demonstrated capability to maintain confidentiality.
* Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment free of harassment, violence, and unlawful discrimination.
* Proven ability to communicate effectively, get along well with co-workers, and deal effectively and professionally with colleagues.
Working Environment
* Work is generally performed indoors in a typical office setting.
* Some weekend/evening work occasionally required.
* Position works with strictly confidential information.
* Frequently required to be in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
Physical Demands
The functions are usually performed while seated, but may involve some amount of time, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting (max. of 40 lbs.), walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, climbing, perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements. The abilities of seeing, hearing and speaking are also required.
Compensation
Based on education and experience, the compensation range starts at $19.23/hour to a median of $20.67/hour.
