Yosemite Pathology is a private independent pathologist owned and operated surgical pathology and cytology laboratory based in Modesto, CA. YP provides comprehensive state of the art, reliable, and accurate diagnostic services to its physicians and major area hospitals in the Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Kern, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties. YP offers a full spectrum of tissue pathology, cytology, and histology services, including examination of gynecologic specimens, body fluids and fine needle aspiration specimens. We also offer an extensive array of special stains and immunohistochemistry to assist in the management of oncologic and non-oncologic diseases. The laboratory is supported by highly qualified Histotechnologist, Cytotechnologist, Technicians and office staff who offer excellent service.Summary/ObjectiveThe position of Office Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance to the Office Manager. Under general supervision, the Office Coordinator is proficient in all of the functions required of a receptionist and required administrative tasks and will act as a primary point of contact ensuring quality customer service and support to the administrative and medical staff.Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Essential Functions
  • All standard front desk duties including but not limited to: answering telephones, filing, receiving deliveries, greeting guests.
  • Daily maintenance of patient requisitions
  • Complete data entry for clinical history and gross description of specimens
  • Print and sort pathology reports to be delivered to clients; regularly communicate with internal team and document changes to clients' report delivery preferences
  • Prepare pathology reports including corrections, addendums, amendments,
  • Distribute all ancillary testing, consults, and reviews
  • Assist pathologists with administrative tasks including slide/block maintenance
  • Schedule medical procedures and verify insurance
  • Quarterly quality compliance
  • Complete laboratory Send Out log
  • Prepare material for Merced Tumor Board
  • Order office supplies
  • Any other clerical duties as may be needed
Minimum Job Requirements and Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (associate's degree preferred)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar work setting preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Strong customer service and courteous phone presence
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology, insurance plans, and authorizations
  • Type 60 wpm
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication
  • Exercise initiative, problem-solving and decision-making and ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with insurance plans, authorizations, and medical billing
  • Ability to comfortably and effectively interact with physicians, nurses and patients daily
Compensation and Benefits
  • The compensation is $43,680 - $47,840 annually paid semi-monthly on an eight (8) hour per day, forty (40) hour per week. Final salary offer subject to multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, geographic location of the role, and current market data.
