We're currently on the lookout for exceptional pirates to join our crew as an Office Manager otherwise known as a Manager of Careening, Swabbing, Provisions, and General Morale to us here at Pirate Ship. Pirate Ship makes shipping fun through a simple service that offers free access to the cheapest shipping rates available. Alongside your crewmates you'll work with the founders of this ten-year-old company. As Steve Jobs said, It's more fun to be a pirate than to join the navy, and in this case the fun is disrupting the trillion-dollar shipping industry, making business more fun for the next generation of ecommerce startups. Responsibilities:
  • Chart a course: Oversee the facilities of Pirate Ship's HQ in Jackson, WY to help create a fun and inclusive environment that the local crew want to be a part of!
  • Hoist the flag: Help develop & maintain all facilities, vendors, and equipment related to the office.
  • Aft rigging: Organize and manage our office building.
  • Stock the provisions: Keep the office kitchen full and all supplies handy.
  • Batten down the hatches: Ensure that we have the best safety systems.
  • Throw three sheets to the wind: Help organize and oversee internal & external events.
  • Codify the process: Create a replicable workflow that helps get projects related to the office moving quickly and efficiently.
  • Find the tradewinds: Identify new opportunities to make the building run better or be nicer for everybody.
  • Use the spyglass: Manage the badging system for the crew and visitors coming in and out of the office.
  • Practice balanced buccaneering: Prepare and deliver consolidated reporting and reviews of all budgets, financial reports (monthly and quarterly), contracts, expenditures and purchase orders related to the office.
  • Navigate the seas: Quickly react to any emergencies pertaining to the building.
  • Support your crew: Ensure all health and safety standards are met including custodial, life-safety, engineering, and general maintenance.
  • Keep it shipshape: Manage building and equipment maintenance schedules, including preventative maintenance to increase the lifespan of all systems along with the interior and exterior conditions of the building.
  • Hoist the sails: Create a project management workflow to make sure all new facilities plans are on track.
  • Hoist the Jolly Roger: Share your experience, expertise and interest with the crew to enhance our fun and progressive culture.
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of facilities and workplace operations experiences.
  • Expert level analytical skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions.
  • Proven track record of comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting complex business documents and office plans.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results.
  • Meticulous financial analysis and budget management skills.
  • Ability to roll up your sleeves with a collaborative mindset.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any emergency situations.
  • This person must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Bonus Points For/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Vacation Time - We offer 144 hours of accrued vacation time to start to keep our pirates rested & rejuvenated!
  • Paid Holidays - 12 paid holidays per year.
  • Paid Sick Time - 80 hours annually.
  • Medical Insurance - 100% covered for Pirates by the company and kicks in the first of the month after enrollment. If you want to add any dependents (spouse, partner or children), they'll be 50% covered.
  • Dental and Vision - 100% covered for Pirates and 50% covered for dependents.
  • 401(K) - We offer a Traditional 401(K) and a Roth 401(K), and pirates who contribute 1-3% of their annual salary get matched 100% by the company.
  • Parental Leave - Full 12 weeks for parents for the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child.
