Since 1919, Wolfe Eye Clinic has been providing medical and surgical vision care services throughout Iowa. At Wolfe Eye clinic, we create Better Vision for a Better Life. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated leader based out of our Hiawatha location. The Office Manager will function in a strategic leadership position managing the overall operations of our Hiawatha and Iowa City clinics. Responsibilities include:
  • Providing effective and proactive management to meet the physician's needs, while ensuring all patients receive high quality efficient care.
  • Managing the flow of assigned clinics to ensure efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Supervising employees, writing evaluations, and addressing employee issues.
  • Writing weekly schedules to ensure adequate staffing, managing employee time off through the Paycom system along with monitoring and approving employee timecards.
  • Taking after-hours staffing calls.
  • Ensuring all employees follow the proper patient scheduling procedures and protocols.
  • Assisting with the recruiting, hiring and orientation of new employees.
  • Supervising the training and cross training of clinic staff
  • Collaborating with Human Resources to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Addressing patient complaints and concerns.
  • Addressing equipment issues and facility maintenance.
  • Fostering a team environment which encourages positive employee morale, engagement, and commitment to healthcare excellence.
  • Additional special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
  • Prior management experience.
  • Prior medical experience.
  • Strong patient service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software and demonstrated computer skills.
  • Ability to travel to additional clinics on a regular basis.
Preferred (but not required) qualifications are:
  • Previous ophthalmology/optometry experience.
  • Secondary education in healthcare administration.
