QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma
* Business school training or office experience that reflects a high level of skill in typing, filing and general office procedures
* Communication skills which encompass the ability to relate to students and adults and to speak and write standard English
REPORTS TO: Assigned Supervisor
JOB GOAL: To organize or direct, as designated by the immediate supervisor, all activities
related to the operation and maintenance of the assigned office area
TERM:Twelve (12) months
SALARY:Office Secretary Salary Schedule-Level II
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To consistently maintain a neat, clean, and well organized work space
2. To utilize standard office procedures in letter writing, filing and bookkeeping
3. To employ professional telephone techniques which are reflective of a positive, professional, and ethical environment
4. To demonstrate sociability and warmth in attitude toward staff, vendors and other visitors
5. To maintain a desk calendar as it relates to due dates of work projects, memos, and reports
6. To be neat and accurate in completing assigned records and reports, turning these in promptly and on time
7. To remain in the assigned work area during the work day unless permission to leave is obtained from a supervisor
8. To follow federal, state, and local policies and procedures
9. To use language that is void of vulgarity, lewdness, coarseness, or profanity
10. To observe all policies and regulations as outlined in the Drug Free Workplace Act
11. To demonstrate ability to adjust to new situations, showing poise in crisis or pressure situations, and mature understanding of problems
12. To be in attendance and on time at work, except for personal illness or emergency, as defined by the policies of the Rapides Parish School Board
13. To be loyal to the administration of the school system
14. To be professionally dressed and well-groomed
15. To maintain a schedule of systems and procedures that are reflective of good time management
16. To perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor
