Title: Office Services Specialist State Role Title: Administrative and Office Specialist II Hiring Range: $15.05 - $17.00 Pay Band: 2 Agency: Virginia Department of Health Location:THREE RIVERS-KING WILLIAM Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Provide administrative support primarily in the clinical department and serve as back up to the environmental health department. Utilize established policies and procedures, provides program and office support to work units including general office and administrative support. Characteristic duties include: routine office and administrative responsibilities, scheduling appointments, maintains records, orders supplies, and answers questions regarding program services offered. Typically serves as the first point of contact for a program or work unit and directs inquiries to the appropriate staff, explains established procedures and practices. FOIA processing and compliance. Determining eligibility for clinical patients, creating patient charts entering patient encounters into the database, collecting payments, billing insurance, writing receipts, reconcile cash/check receipts and makes deposits. To serve as a Deputy Registrar and responsible for filing birth and death certificates. Minimum Qualifications General knowledge of office principles and practices Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications Ability to interpret and follow established procedures and guidelines Ability to communicate effectively Considerable skill in the operation of standard office equipment Ability to provide good customer service Additional Considerations Experience in office setting specific to program area Special Instructions You will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
