This is a part time position working 20 hours per week. The salary is $18.57-$25.03/hour.

As a part-time Office Specialist 2 in Astoria, Oregon, you will provide administrative support services for the Marine Resources Program. Duties include:

* Word processing and records management

* Public reception through personal and phone contact

* Commercial license sales and information

* Public outreach and customer service

* Assist with finfish and shellfish data entry projects.

WORKING CONDITIONS

* Work is performed indoors in an office environment.

* May occasionally be required to work overtime (i.e., more than 20 hours per week*).

* Some extended periods of standing may be required.

* Must use terminal keyboard connected to mainframe.

* Frequent public contact, sometimes with persons who are confused or contentious, both in person and by phone.

* Frequent interruptions and changes in priority of work to be performed.

* The person in this position will work 20 hours per week (schedule to be decided jointly by the supervisor and the person in this position depending on program needs). Work exceeding 20 hours per week requires prior approval by the supervisor.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents;

* OR-

An associate degree in any field;

* OR-

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Attributes

* Experience working in a fast-paced office with multiple priorities

* Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

* Experience and/or exposure working with fish and wildlife.

* Experience issuing licenses, tags and permits

* Experience in providing good customer service

* The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
