Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Associate Warden, Business Services, and the Correctional Business Manager I, the Office Technician (OT) provides assistance in the Business Service Office. Duties include: Receptionist for Business Office, answers incoming telephone calls, greets visitors and refers to proper personnel when appropriate. Process incoming and outgoing mail; provide all secretarial support to the AWBS and CBM I. Log and track Request for Vehicle/Travel forms. Log and track Incarcerated Person Appeals to appropriate Department Heads and assign due dates. Assign State Vehicles to staff for business travel ensuring all established travel guidelines are met. Conduct daily key and vehicle inventories. Communicate with Garage to ensure vehicles are pulled for daily and routine service and maintenance. Process correspondence to administer the 25 year and retirement award recognition program. Maintain Business Services Conference Room calendar. Take minutes. Many other duties as assigned required. You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.
