Position Description Job Title Licensed Practical Nurse Reports To Registered Nurse FLSA Status Non-Exempt Purpose Statement: Recovery in Motion is a dedicated team of motivated individuals who work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide effective substance use disorder treatment services. Key Result Areas: Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clear knowledge of the policies and procedures for the Medical Services Department and Recovery in Motion
  • Work with provider on development and implementation of Standing Orders
  • Implement and periodically update written policies and procedures for the administration, storage, and control of medications and supplies
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all client care information
  • Assure that all staff have a current CPR and First Aid Certificate. Conduct CPR/First Aid training as needed
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary
  • Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patients as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes
  • Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards
  • Administer medication accurately, observing client response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes
  • Maintain and coordinate communication among client, staff and physician as evidence within medical record, client and health care team feedback
  • Client admissions

  • Assist in assuring that effective communication exists with patients as reflected in the plan of care. Give punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the health team in coordination of the patient's care as evidenced by other department feedback
  • Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated
Required Skills and Experience (Minimum Requirements):
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Complete background study
  • CPR certification or attain within 30-days
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills
  • Must know and understand the implications of 245G, sections 245A.65, 626.557, and 626.5572, and chapter 260E
