Position SummaryThis is an interest list posting for teaching advanced foods classes. Our advanced foods courses involve the implementation of meal management principles as they relate to controlling cost, providing satisfying meals, entertaining, conserving time and energy, using modern kitchen technology, and ensuring food safety, converting recipes and producing high quality foods in large quantity, keeping inventory of ingredients, concepts of managing a food service operation, and strategies for marketing catering services. All classes are lab classes requiring actual food preparation.Additional responsibilities may include advising students, grocery shopping, food inventory, and managing student aides.Adjunct positions are contracted on a semester-by-semester basis.
This position is an interest list for future adjunct teaching opportunities. Applications will be reviewed by the department periodically and all candidates will be notified by email if they are chosen to interview for a position.
Knowledge, Skills, and ExperienceBachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching is advantageous.
