Job Location : Linthicum Heights,MD, USA
The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live, work, and connect with their community.
Even though we are the largest self-directed services provider in Maryland with over 2,300 Participant employers enrolled statewide, our Self-Directed Services team is anything but impersonal. The work we do directly supports employers with IDD in experiencing greater self-determination, independence, and choice in their services.
As we build the future of self-direction in Maryland, the Onboarding Specialist will provide administrative and customer support to Participant employers as they navigate the onboarding process for their employees. The primary role of the Onboarding Specialist is to assist in the facilitation of the hiring and training compliance processes, ensuring everything is in alignment with internal and external best practices and standards. These tasks include processing and verifying new hire documentation, verifying I-9 documentation, facilitating the completion of payroll forms and background screenings, and supporting the administration of employee benefits.
The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate a high level of customer service experience and have the ability to work collaboratively with diverse personalities and populations. Being detail-oriented, highly responsive, and a clear communicator will be essential skills to this position. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, though a bachelor's degree in business or human resources is preferred, along with a minimum of two years of experience in human resources processing onboarding and new hire documentation using an HRIS system. This position comes with a competitive total rewards package and is a fully remote position, though the candidate must be able to travel to our Linthicum, Maryland headquarters or other Maryland sites for meetings as needed.
