About the Role - Plant Operating Engineer
Responsibilities
- Quality & Food Safety: Ensure tasks meet product quality and food safety standards. Report deviations to QA promptly.
- Refrigeration System: Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues. Document all maintenance activities.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Fabricate parts and perform general facility upkeep, including plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
- Team Support: Assist with training new team members. Collaborate with the Plant Energy team to improve operations.
Qualifications
- Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, FDA, DEP, EPA, TCPA, OSHA, and related regulations. Proficient in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and Microsoft Office.
- Certifications: New Jersey Ammonia Blue Seal required (Red Seal acceptable).
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years in industrial manufacturing, with 1 year in the food industry preferred. At least 1 year operating and troubleshooting refrigeration systems.
Pay range and compensation package
- Training: Day shift (Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts). Post-Training: 12-hour rotating shifts (7 PM to 7 AM). Pay: $32.85/hour, union position with benefits.
