Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) - Tandym Group : Job Details

A renowned acute care healthcare facility on Staten Island is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Operating Room team.About the Opportunity:

• Assignment Length: 8-13 weeks
• Schedule: Full-Time (36-40 hours per week)
• Patient Population: Adults (including some Pediatrics and Adolescents)

Responsibilities:The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) will:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the operating room
• Collaborate with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
• Perform both scrubbing and circulating duties during major surgical cases
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room and ensure adherence to all infection control protocols
• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes in condition during surgery
• Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and postoperative care
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in both Scrubbing & Circulating in major Surgical cases
• Current registration in New York State as an RN Licensure
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• BSN
• Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Current BLS certification
• Previous experience in an Operating Room role/setting
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
