Job Summary and Qualifications

The OR Scheduler will schedule patient's procedures accurately according to hospital schedules, queries and/or scripts and verify questionable procedures with Coordinator. Process telephoned requests in a prompt and timely manner utilizing a working knowledge and vocabulary of procedures scheduled. Demonstrate capability to deal with day-to-day changes in schedule with medical office staff and OR staff.

* You will establish and maintain a positive, cooperative working relationship with the medical staff office.

* Confirm surgery time and date with caller prior to close of phone call.

* You will demonstrate the willingness and ability to schedule diagnostic procedures that are performed in OR Department.

* Correctly utilize the scheduling features of the Meditech system and accurately enters necessary information.

* You will interact with OR Staff/Clinical coordinators about procedure codes, corrections and physician duration changes.

What qualifications you will need:

* Data entry skills and healthcare experience required.

* Medical Terminology knowledge is also required.

* 40 wpm typing speed

* Licensed Practical Nurse is preferred
