The Idaho Division of Human Resources (DHR) is seeking an Operations Bureau Chief. This announcement will be used to fill a classified position located at DHR Central Office in Boise, ID.
Summary:
To manage bureau staff and operations including planning, organizing, staffing, and directing all related activities and systems; complete special projects; perform related work.
Job Responsibilities:
* Establishes and maintains bureau goals, priorities, policies, and procedures
* Hires, supervises, and trains staff and evaluates performance
* Provides and directs work assignments and ensures compliance with required federal, state and local standards
* Plans, organizes, staffs, directs, and controls bureau programs and operations that include personnel, training and development, public information, and general services
* Develops, recommends, and manages budget
* Defines and delegates authority to staff for program and section activities
* Reviews and monitors systems and develops strategies for improved performance, modification, or integration
* Recommends policy, program, and operational changes
* Acts as liaison with elected, appointed, federal, state, and public officials regarding operations and administration
* Represents the bureau at public meetings and conferences
* Prepares reports and correspondence for the bureau and outside clients
* Resolves client complaints and addresses inquiries from elected officials
* Manage bureau response to complaints, inquiries, and requests for technical assistance and information from licensees and the public
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
* Managing staff and programs
* Administering policies and procedures
* Assessing program/project outcomes
* Interpreting and applying federal and state laws, regulations and/or directives
* Preparing and presenting oral presentations to executives or governing boards
* Writing business documents and reports
