Our experienced team customizes and mobilizes resources needed to serve any market and any customer and solve any supply chain challenge.Job Overview:The Operations Coordinator (OC) orchestrates and oversees daily barge fleet operations and is responsible for tracking and reporting all inbound/outbound movements, researching barge position information and determining load/unloading schedules. Other tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Planning, coordinating and managing inland barge movements of industrial dry bulk, liquid bulk chemicals, steel and breakbulk cargoesPositioning barges according to the shippers' respective needs and providing the ships' ETATracking barges along the river system and communicating their positions on a regular basis to shippers and client terminal locationsCoordinating tow schedules, tracking loading and unloading activities; midstream-in/midstream-outReleasing barges back to barge lines upon completionAuditing and vetting barge freight, demurrage and processing all related invoicesJob Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Transportation or LogisticsWork experience in transportation or related field; familiar with basic logistics, ship, barge and terminal operationsStrong computer skills required: Outlook, Excel, Word. Experience with ERP systems (example AX, SAP) is usefulSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently on multiple issuesResults-oriented with a high sense of urgencyStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to exercise creativityDetail-oriented with the ability to enter and report data accuratelyAbility to work after normal business hours when necessaryPosition may be based in the following locations:Houston, TexasLong Island, New YorkNew Orleans, LouisianaNearest Major Market: Long IslandNearest Secondary Market: New York City#J-18808-Ljbffr
