Operations Manager - Leesel Transportation : Job Details

Leesel Transportation Corp.Responsibility Profile: Oversee daily operations of school bus services within the region, ensuring efficient and effective transportation of students.Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to student transportation, including safety and environmental standards.Lead, manage, and develop a team of operations staff, drivers, and maintenance personnel, promoting a culture of safety, professionalism, and respect.Develop and implement operational strategies and processes to improve service quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.Collaborate with schools, districts, and parent organizations to maintain strong relationships and ensure alignment with transportation needs and expectations.Manage the fleet maintenance program to ensure all vehicles are in optimal condition and meet safety standards.Monitor and analyze operational data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.Prepare and manage the regional operations budget, including forecasting and cost control measures.Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, service disruptions, and customer concerns.Represent the company in regional transportation committees, forums, and public meetings.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business management, logistics or related field or equivalent work experience (10+ years).Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the school bus or transportation industry.Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and fleet management in New York City.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of employees and customers.Proven ability to analyze operational data and implement strategic improvements.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint and Excel.Beacon and our family of companies are an equal opportunity employer.
