Job Title: Operations ManagerLocation: Kansas City, KSSalary: $130k-170kWe are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and drive excellence across all facets of our business.Job Description:The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing operations of our foundry and steel casting facility in Kansas City, KS. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple departments and shifts within the manufacturing facility, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration.
- Develop and implement operations metrics to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to meet financial targets and objectives.
- Utilize expertise in foundry, casting, and steel industry operations to enhance processes and workflows.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles such as JIT, Kanban, and Lean to improve inventory turns and reduce waste.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and improve inventory turns through strategic planning approaches.
- Motivate and develop a positive attitude among coworkers and colleagues on the shop floor.
- Make high-impact decisions in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong change management skills.
- Utilize advanced spreadsheet tools, word-processing, and manufacturing-control software applications.
- Maintain schedules and respond to customer needs promptly and efficiently.
- Pursue professional training and certifications such as Green Belt, Black Belt, or Lean, as well as advanced education opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Operations Leadership experience, leading multiple departments or shifts.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing operations metrics to drive results.
- Experience with budget management and development.
- Previous experience in foundry, casting, or steel industry operations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cost-saving initiatives, improve inventory turns, and implement planning approaches.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate coworkers and colleagues.
- Skilled in advanced spreadsheet tools, word-processing, and manufacturing-control software applications.
- Ability to make high-impact decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong change management skills.
