POSITION TITLE: Operations ManagerFLSA STATUS: Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Operations POSITION SUMMARY: The Operations Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient management overall direction, execution, coordination, and evaluation of the assigned business units and will carry out supervisory responsibilities, the successful opening of new school districts, and the effective training of employees in accordance with the organization's approved policies, processes, systems and all nutritional programs, governmental regulations and applicable laws. Commit to continuous improvement .FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Essential Functions Full P&L responsibility to include budgeting and planning, P&L analysis, labor/billbacks and transitions, and reconciliation to achieve company's philosophical, operational, and financial goals for existing and new account openings. Manage weekly operating reports and develop the action plans for execution by the Director of Nutrition Services (DNS). Achieve goals and objections set by the company for your assigned area. Report out to the immediate Supervisor detailed report on participation, meal per labor hour (MPLH) and food usage per meal and follow-up. Follow-up with DNS to ensure billing and reconciliation is completed the first of every month. Consistent communication and follow-up with the DNS on the action plans. Hold DNS' accountable to established plan. Oversee and hold DNS accountable to seamless execution of the program. Monitor and confirm daily accurate production records, daily production record and meal pattern as required by Opaa! and the state departments through the Daily Operations Checklist. Approve all catering events for the district and the community. Responsible for all New District Openings, which includes hiring and training as required to Director of Nutrition Services, Kitchen Managers, and all employees. Execute new school district opening using the new district checklist. Conduct on-site visits daily and complete the Operations Checklist. Submit the Operations Checklist. Ensure proper implementation of the Monthly Marketing Planner. Host weekly virtual operation meeting with direct reports. Develop and maintain a culture designed to promote a positive team spirit among employee in alignment with Opaa! core values. Serve as a company ambassador in matters of employee and/or client conflict resolution.
- Promote excellent customer service by investigating and resolving food quality and service complaints.
- Establish and maintain open and effective lines of communication at all levels to maximize customer/client satisfaction. Meet with building principals and district liaison (superintendent, and/or assistant superintendent) as may be required.
Develop a positive working relationship with the clients in assigned responsibility and promote a positive attitude toward the district meal program and Opaa! Food Management. Actively partner with Supervisor and BDA and participate in the bid process, including but not limited to documenting walk-through, collecting proper documentation, and presenting to the bid team. Attend Board of Education meetings to onboard new district or assist in the renewal process. Monitor all business units for compliance with company policies, as well as county, state, and federal regulations. Hire, direct, coordinate, evaluate, and develop of all Director of Nutrition Services in the assigned region while maintain compliance with all labor regulations. Ensure newly hired and promoted Directors are scheduled at Certified Training District (CDT) and receive required training. Follow-up, as necessary. Monitoring and properly hold DNS accountable through the proper compliance of hiring process. Approve and/or deny job requisitions by monitoring MPLH and providing thorough and detailed justification for the job requisition.
- Address performance issues and conflict in the workplace in an appropriate and timely manner with proper documentation and partnership with HR Generalist.
- Ensure compliance with Opaa! HR policies and procedures, and Federal Labor Laws (timekeeping, payroll, background checks, I-9/eVerify, hire/fire/discipline processes, leaves of absence, employee relations, etc.).
Ensure compliance with Opaa! recipes and menu plans.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent experience.Experience: 5 - 7 years progressively responsible experience in a retail (food, clothing, or convenience stores) or healthcare food service environment. Working knowledge of all kitchen functions and equipment. Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to build, manage, and motivate a team. Experience working with multiple locations over a dispersed geographic area. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially with reports, business correspondence, performance appraisals and corrective action documentation. Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong planning, organizational, and personnel management skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Valid Driver's license and good driving record and must be able to travel 90% of the time.
