The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily activities related to branch operations and product processing within the company. The role involves supervising operations to ensure the efficiency and quality of processes, with specific duties including:
Responsibilities:
* Developing Business Plans: Create and maintain operational plans, considering labor hours, cycles, costs, and program requirements
* Establishing Standards: Work with the Director of Quality to set processing and quality control standards, budgets, and cost controls
* Process Planning: Provide guidance in developing plans for staffing, materials, subcontracting, facilities, and equipment
* Meeting Commitments: Ensure the organization meets cost, quality, and delivery standards
* Coordinating Operations: Collaborate with other departments to optimize resource utilization (human, machine, and equipment)
* Monitoring Reports: Review operational reports to address processing and maintenance issues and minimize costs
* Safety Program: Collaborate with the Director of Safety to create and implement programs that reduce accidents and injuries
* Employee Training: Ensure compliance with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year institution or work related experience
* 5-7 years of management experience in a metals service center, or a similar environment
* Lean / Six Sigma experience
* Experience in metals processing/distribution
* Strong leadership, motivation, and interpersonal communication skills
* Process management expertise
* Problem-solving abilities
* Capacity to handle multiple priorities effectively
* Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
* Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
* Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
Compensation
$65,000 - $100,000 annually
