Operations Manager
Location: Brooten, MN
Reports to: General Manager
Industry: Food Manufacturing
The ideal candidate will have three years of food manufacturing leadership experience. Warehouse operations, quality control, safety standards, and resource management experience. Knowledge of SAP is a big plus.
Job Description:
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising the operation function in the production of a high quality, food safety product
- Provide leadership on the operating floor striving for compliance in safety, health, environmental, and quality.
- Manage and supervise all areas of Plant operations to ensure optimal performance
- Promote employee engagement and development to maximize production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement goals
- Responsible for plant operational systems including acquisition of raw materials, product processing, QA, and shipping of quality-finished products
- Maintain plant equipment in good working order and maintain the best possible work force
- Request materials and labor needed to maintain plant machinery
- Assist in engineering and supervising all plant changes and additions approved by Operations Management
- Work with GM to minimize costs whenever possible
- Supervise all plant operations
- Coordinated with necessary personnel to establish an effective safety training program
- Coordinate with GM to maintain a clean and orderly plant
- Assist with preparation of budgets and costs for plant operations
- In absence of GM and Quality Manager, be responsible for ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements, industry-regulated standards, and overall food safety and quality functions
Qualifications:
- BS/BA – or equivalent work experience
- Three years of experience leading manufacturing or processing operations or eight years of experience in manufacturing or processing operations is required
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, drive performance, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, quality control, safety standards, and resource management
- Familiarity with plant functions including facilities, logistics, and maintenance is preferred
- Knowledge of SAP a big plus
- Experience working in a union environment is preferred
- Previous plant supervisory or leadership experience a big plus
- Food manufacturing experience a big plus
