Job Responsibilities:Safely, effectively, and accurately direct the daily efforts of the Operations Department.Conduct Daily SQE meetings with all Shift employees.Conduct Daily JHAs on all routine job tasks with the Shift employees.Create and implement new JHAs on ALL Non-routine jobs or tasks that may arise on a daily basis.Develop, instruct, motivate, and discipline employees in compliance with IMT policies and procedures.Must acquire Barge and Vessel updates on Holidays and Weekends.Must plan and schedule all manpower required for the next 24 hours of operation.Maintain adherence to OSHA regulations as well as various other guidelines, standards, and company operating policies and procedures.Responsible for the berthing and sailing of all vessels, to include direct supervision of vessel discharges and all vessel loadings, also to include direct supervision at the completion of ALL vessels.Verify and ensure stock piles and Dozer Operators during all stacking and reclaiming operations.Update the Terminal Yard Map of any chances that may take place during your (12) hour shift.Effectively manage and maintain all stockpiles accordingly.Monitor and manage all Storm water ditches and retention ponds, including PH monitors and Outfalls.Effectively monitor and maintain daily operation of Pitt Bull pumps throughout the facility.Monitor all flopgate and Skirtboard positions to ensure cargo flow and direction.Report all spills, incidents, accidents and Near Misses to Upper Management immediately.Responsible for the initial Accident/Incident investigation and the required documentation.Responsible to send out ERLs at the time of any and all incidents.Advise terminal management of progress toward objectives and develops strategies for necessary adjustments.Maintain a professional attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, subordinates and other employees while working in a fast-paced environment.Coordinate all activities with the Maintenance Department, Electrical Department, Fleet Department, EH&S and all other affected parties.Other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required.Associates Degree in technical field or commensurate education and experience preferred.Job Requirements:Substantial knowledge of heavy equipment and terminal operations is required.Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in an industrial facility (bulk handling facility experience is preferred, but will also consider process or petroleum industries) is required.Previous experience in a supervisory, foreman, or team leadership role is required.Proven ability to effectively manage a staff in a manner that ensures overall success and promotes team spirit.Able to organize and prioritize multiple projects and make adjustments quickly as needed.Must be flexible and have the ability to work with a team and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.Must be proficient in PC software applications.Demonstrated aptitude to execute and maintain necessary records.Must be able to respond to call outs on a 24 hour emergency basis.Must be able to work long hours, in excess of 12 hours, when required.Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.Willing and able to work at heights up to 100 feet.Able to negotiate uneven surfaces.Able to carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to work in all types of weather.Must be able to pass company drug screen, background check, and any other applicable tests and clearances.Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge:Three or more years supervisory experience is preferred.
