Job Title: Operations Supervisor - Cold Food Dept Job Location: Minneapolis-USA-55450 Work Location Type: On-Site Salary Range: $56,189.00 - 69,822.00 per year
Role Purpose Statement We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Operations Supervisor to lead our food department including managing a large team (team size: minimum 15). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring that food production meets strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively coach, mentor, and motivate staff while driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
Main Accountabilities - Supervise team to ensure food is produced and assembled in accordance with FDA, USDA, HACCP and airline specification
- Ensure on-time and accurate food production to meet Kitchen Ready Times
- Conduct daily manpower planning and adjust as necessary to ensure efficient allocation of labor
- Maintain Knife Log and ensure compliance with Knife Policy
- Develop and implement operational procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality control
- Manage scheduling, payroll, and staffing requirements to meet operational needs while controlling labor costs
- Analyze performance metrics and financial data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Resolve customer complaints and inquiries promptly and effectively, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the food department
Leadership
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff to uphold high standards of performance, professionalism, and customer service
- Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
- Plan / Implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
- Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and CBase
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Experience required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge required
- In addition, one to three years of related work experience required
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, regulations, and best practices
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Proven analytical and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment
