2. Interviewees who are selected for employment are usually contacted within two to three days after their interview. Arrangements will then be made to complete all necessary paperwork to begin the background investigation. Many pre-hires will be required to complete an application packet for Arizona Department of Gaming Certification and/or a Tribal Gaming License depending on position offered.

  • Felony convictions will be grounds for denial of Gaming Certification and/or a Tribal Gaming License.
  • All new hires will be required to submit verification of authorization to work within the United States in accordance with federal law. Employment is contingent on passing a drug test.
  • Preference in filling any non-grant / non-contract funded vacancies is given to enrolled Tribal Members of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe and to other qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Employment Preference Policy and Procedure. Documentation of Tribal enrollment required (Tribal Enrollment Card, Certificate of Indian Blood or Tribal Voter Registration Card).
POSITION TITLE: OPERATIONS SUPPORT MANAGER LOCATION: Prescott, AZ REPORTS TO: Casino General Manager FLSA STATUS: Exempt SCOPE OF WORK:Has responsibility for assignments requiring use of executive administrative skill, independent judgment, leadership, and organizational efficiency. Initiates and coordinates the functions required for the effective operation of Casino Operations.Will become familiar with the Tribal/State Gaming Compact, National Indian Gaming Commission's (NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), the Tribal Gaming Code, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Title 31, and Departmental Internal Controls and Job Instructions. WORK PERFORMED: This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the Tribe and the employee and is subject to change as the needs of the Tribe and requirements of the position change. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position; Will provide executive support for the Casino General Manager and Executive Management Team in operational processes; Will monitor and document progress toward achievement of business goals, objectives, strategies, and action plan results; Will manage and track delegated activities assigned by the Casino General Manager to ensure on-going projects meet deadlines; Will provide monthly reports to the Casino General Manager and Executive Management Team on operational activities; Will ensure that completed projects meet the specification and predetermined internal quality standards; Will manage the Casino General Manager's agenda items for Commission and Board approval; Will conduct investigations regarding escalated complaints and concerns brought to the Casino General Manager; Will identify and manage changes to existing YGA (Yavapai Gaming Agency) forms, new forms, existing and new documents and coordinate with Management on agenda presentations and format; Will act as primary liaison between Gaming Operations and other Tribal entities; Will manage and keep track of the Executive Management's payroll for the Casino General Manager's approval; Will prepare and compose correspondence and Regulatory documents requiring discrimination and judgment; Will establish and implement standards and procedures as necessary for use of the Local Area Network and File Server(s). This includes on-going maintenance of File Server Casino Operations' databases and libraries; Will manage work assignments, schedules, and status for the Casino General Manager; Will manage confidential files for Casino General Manager and Operations; Will prepare and distribute various reports; Will act as liaison between the general public, vendors and Management; Will direct employees in projects by assigning responsibility and authority to lowest level possible; JOBDES - Operations Support Manager Will monitor and take action where necessary regarding employee accuracy and efficiency; Will manage with all other YGA departments and management personnel as required ensuring efficient, cooperative operation of the business and compliance with Regulatory standards and requirements and working relationships with the Board, Commission, department heads, employees and the general public; Will arrange meetings required by Casino General Manager, Operations staff meetings, employee relations functions, including preparation of meeting agendas, and necessary coordination with Tribal office staff; Will take minutes of Casino Operations meetings as necessary and assigned. Will prepare and distribute the minutes in coordination with the applicable Manager(s); Will manage, maintain, and provide reporting on the Casino Operations Petty Cash fund; Will assist and coordinate annual budget files between Departments, Operations, and Tribal Accounting; Will monitor and coordinate approval for Complimentary reports for Casino General Manager; Will perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have an Associate's Degree in Business Management or four years of directly related work experience; Must have a High School Diploma or GED; Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be insurable under the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe's Auto Insurance Carrier; Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and adhere to the Tribe/Gaming's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment; Must pass a background security check prior to and during the course of employment with the Tribe/Gaming Agency in order to meet the Tribal State Compact and/or Tribal Gaming Ordinance; Must adhere to all Tribal/Gaming Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures; Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong orientation to excellent customer service Must have minimum one year managerial/supervisory experience; Must have minimum one year in file management experience; Must have comprehensive knowledge of, and experience using, a range of computer applications, specifically including Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Acrobat, Windows XP, and data backup; Must have comprehensive knowledge of modern office methods and procedures, filing, telephone techniques, and standard office equipment; Must be a dependable, mature individual; Must have reliable, accurate attention to detail; Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality; Must be self-reliant and capable of working independently as appropriate or necessary; Must have the ability to be flexible and adopt appropriate actions during changing situations; Must have the knowledge of public relations and customer service principles. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related field; Prefer the ability to type accurately at a speed of 60 wpm.
