SHIFT

DET - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan)

A BRIEF OVERVIEWThe Operations Technician, Blasting, inspects incoming product, rejects, or approves product; attaches special tape or other material to the product to protect areas to be coating-free; blasts areas to be coated; removes tape and re-tapes product for coating process. This position requires hands-on craftsmanship and attention to detail.WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Completes all required training.
  • Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.
  • Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
  • Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
  • Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
  • Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
  • Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
  • Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
  • Reinforces safety expectations. Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated. Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Utilizes fine motor skills and superior eyesight to inspect incoming product, attach tape to protect areas specified by customer requirements, blasts areas to be coated, and removes tape and re-tapes product before sending product to the coating operation.
  • Following the coating operation, unmasks the product a final time, inspects a final time, and sends product to the Final Inspection area.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • No previous work experience required (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
  • Experience working in an FDA regulatory environment (Preferred)
