Job OverviewWe are in search of a strategic and accomplished leader to become part of a rapidly expanding, privately-held organization within the veterinary sector. The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the operations of 100-125+ veterinary hospitals throughout the Pacific Northwest, California, and Arizona. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is pivotal in driving operational excellence, achieving corporate objectives, and nurturing a collaborative culture across all facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage operations across a network of 100-125+ veterinary hospitals, ensuring the achievement of performance benchmarks and operational excellence.
  • Deliver strategic guidance and operational support to divisional leaders and regional managers.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, supportive relationships with hospital leadership and staff to promote a positive, results-oriented culture.
  • Facilitate the recruitment and retention of talented veterinarians and support staff.
  • Oversee the integration of newly acquired hospitals to guarantee alignment with the organization's high standards.
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time to support hospitals and collaborate with teams in the field.
  • Required Skills

  • Extensive operational management experience, preferably in high-growth environments with multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in M&A, organic growth strategies, or the development of multi-site operations.
  • Strong financial acumen and strategic business insight.
  • Competency in analyzing complex data to inform operational improvements.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities and a proven track record in building a cohesive team culture.
  • Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of multi-site operational or management experience in a high-growth organization (100+ locations is ideal).
  • Previous experience in industries such as veterinary, healthcare, or dental is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
