How does this role fit into the success of our organization? - An operator is a crucial part of the operation with a great deal of responsibility in making product within specification, good quality and assures that the machine stays running with minimal downtime and waste to meetand or exceed our customer's expectations.
- Operates treating machine(s) that produce furniture and décor papers.
- Regulates machine speed, flow, volume, and temperature.
- Stops or resets machine when malfunction occurs and clears machine jams.
- Performs tests and evaluates product. Verifies and records product weights or measurements to ensure quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Coach or Manufacturing Manager.
- Inspects and removes defective product as required.
- Adjusts machine tension, pressure and machine components according to specifics of product.
What are we looking for? - Knowledgeable
- High school diploma or GED, additional education a plus
- Experienced
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documentation, SOPs, and job descriptions.
- Ability to do fundamental mathematics as it pertains to production, formulations, efficiencies, and scrap.
- Effective
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Good interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills to attain high levels of performance.
- Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Collaborative
- Collaboration is key to Arauco's success. This role requires collaboration with teams, management, clients, customers, and vendors in a professional manner to be successful.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
- Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.
- Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures
