About Great Kitchens Based out of Romeoville, just southwest of Chicago, Great Kitchens has been supplying private label, take & bake pizza since 2005. It was recently acquired by Brynwood Partners in December 2020. Our Company operates a 165,000 sq. ft. crust facility in Chicago Heights and a 155,000 sq. ft. toppings facility in Romeoville. Every role is vital to the growth of our organization.Key AccountabilitiesTo prepare and operate machines in process, to verify weights during pizza assembly product according to the Company and USDA requirements and follow the specifications of each BOM.Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the production of a quality product that meets all customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides training to all new operators.
  • Effectively communicates as required with supervisor.
  • Assures that the necessary tools, settings, and supplies are ready prior to production.
  • Maintains constant attendance to the machines and prevents other employees that are not trained on that machine from improper use.
  • Records and accounts for all materials used on the line for assigned shift.
  • Assists supervisor in maintaining the work areas in a clean and safe manner.
  • Makes minor machine adjustment and informs the supervisor and the maintenance department when major repairs are required.
  • Records all down time due to machine malfunctions and reports them to the supervisor at the end of the shift.
  • Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.
Food Safety / Quality:
  • Adhere to all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), such as good hand washing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan.
  • Follow all USDA guidelines.
  • Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance.
  • Comply with customer requirements when applicable.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Good communications skills, hardworking, dependable, safety conscious
  • Read, write English, and know basic math.
  • Minimum 6 months of production experience.
  • Able to operate mechanical and electrical machines.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred.
  • Able to make logical decisions.
  • Work bending and squatting.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Work bending and squatting.

  • Work in cold refrigerated and frozen conditions.
Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, and extreme cold.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.
  • Ability to work different shifts and weekends.
Food Safety/Quality
  • Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance.
  • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.
