OPERATOR FOR SIDING PRESS - LP Building Products : Job Details

Job Purpose

Operator runs the dryers, formers and press machines ensuring that the siding products are made appropriately.

Job Responsibilities:

* Monitor and operate multiple pieces of equipment including formers, dryers and press that creates an engineered wood product.

* Monitor activity through control panel & make appropriate process changes.

* Remain in compliance of dryer inlet temperature limitations and adhere to hourly press load limits.

* Monitor and maintain proper moisture content in flakes by controlling dryer.

* Communicate with other plant operators including but not limited to, QC Technician, Thermal Systems Monitor, Line Operator, Trucker / Strapper, and Shift Supervisor.

* Record detailed maintenance work requests, safety work requests, and daily downtime in the EAM program.

* Demonstrates knowledge of process for power outage.

* Knowledge of energy isolating devices prior to machine start up.

* Knowledge of Fire prevention response protocol.

* Mentor for new operators.

* Understand and be able to competently perform Line Operator Role

Education:

* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

* 3 - 5 years' experience in equipment operation.

* Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
