Forklift Operator
ABOUT LCI
The mission of LCI is to provide meaningful employment for the blind and visually impaired. We accomplish this in four ways:
LOCATION AND SCHEDULE
Location: Louisville, KY
Monday-Friday 7:15 AM- 4PM
II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSEDrives gasoline or electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, clamps, elevating platform to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.
III. RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERSNone
IV. BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONMust be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and managers.
V. SUPERVISION REQUIREDUnder immediate supervision of the Whse/Traffic Supervisor
High School Diploma or GED. Must have good reading, writing and math skills and be able to pass in house forklift training course.

VIII. EXPERIENCE REQUIREDSix months related experience and/or training preferred.
IX. TRAVEL REQUIREDNone.
Materials being moved.
Check for damage.
Pallets, skids, boxes, products and transport load to designated area.
Schedules.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel or crouch. Bi-manual dexterity required. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, cold and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
