Precision Glass Molding:

Precision Glass Molding is a unique lens manufacturing technology in the optics industry. As opposed to the traditional method of grinding and polishing a lens, we use high temperature and pressure to transform a simple lens blank made from optical grade glass, into a more complex lens. The molding takes place within a specialized machine in a clean, temperature-controlled environment.

You will:

  • Be Loading and unloading the glass molding press
  • Keeping track of daily production totals and data
  • Performing basic lens inspection
  • Taking mechanical measurements (micrometers)
  • Loading lenses into trays
  • Maintaining a clean working environment
  • Attendance reliability, hardworking, and dependability are essential functions of this position.
  • Exercises independent judgment when inspecting parts acceptability for further operations.
  • Follow procedures for all jobs.

You have:

  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to multi-task and stay focused and follow directions.
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous Optical Experience a plus but not required
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.

Environment & Physical Demands

  • May involve the use of oils and solvents.
  • Generally work in a clean environment and maintain the environment as such.
  • Safety Glasses are required
  • May require area specific safety training
  • May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during the production process.
