Machine Setter / Machinist in Metal Fabrication Industry Johnson Bros. Roll Forming Co. Berkeley, IL Job Overview Johnson Bros. Roll Forming Co. is looking for experienced Roll Form Operators who are skilled at machine setup. With over 30 production lines, all with different capabilities, experience is required. Over the last 70 years, Johnson Bros. has worked with clients in over 100 industries, including door, display, lighting, fence, rack and storage industries. Johnson Bros. specializing in custom roll formed component parts, manufactured to customer spec. With over 30 complete roll forming lines, our capabilities are endless. Shifts - 1st Shift is Tuesday – Friday 5:00AM-3:30PM (Schedule May Change as needed) Responsibilities and Duties Safely set-up the roll line to produce roll-formed parts by reading blueprints and set-up drawings. Prepares machinery for production and ensures that production lines run smoothly Problem-solve and troubleshoot any tooling production issues. Create detailed written set-up instructions for new production jobs. Follow all established safety guidelines and OSHA requirements; wear required PPEs. Adhere to company policies and procedures and maintain good attendance and punctuality. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 5 years experience in the metals industry Experience performing setups or machine operations, part inspections, and reading blueprints Mechanical skills with knowledge and understanding of using hand tools to adjust machinery Experience with measuring tools, such as a caliper and tape measure. Strong math skills for roll setup Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently. Able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to temperatures that may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
