Engineer - Seasoned Resource for Utilities (AHU, Compressor, Hot Oil Heater, Chillers)Position OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned Engineer with extensive experience in utilities including Air Handling Units (AHUs), compressors, hot oil heaters, and chillers. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, coordination, and execution phases of construction projects, ensuring efficiency and compliance with industry standards.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analyses and assessments of mechanical systems including AHUs, compressors, hot oil heaters, and chillers.
- Oversee pre-construction activities, including BIM coordination and pre-design planning.
- Manage the construction phase by coordinating between different trades and ensuring that project specifications are met.
- Utilize building information modeling (BIM) to enhance project efficiency and collaboration.
- Design and coordinate mechanical contracting processes for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in commercial buildings.
- Implement prefabrication techniques to optimize construction timelines and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with electrical and plumbing teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks for design and coordination.
- Act as a VDC Coordinator or MEP Coordinator to facilitate communication between project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on utilities systems.
- Proficiency in BIM software, including Revit and Navisworks.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical contracting processes.
- Experience with pre-construction, construction phase activities, and design coordination.
- Familiarity with commercial building standards and fire protection systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
